  Renaissance Space Academy Voyager Club Volunteer Recognitions The Renaissance Space Academy (RSA) provides STEAM experiential education programs to our students and the public at large. Our current programs include: 1.  The Space Academy Young Astronauts Program: Grades 4-8.  An after school club. 2.  The Young Coders:  Computer programming club taught  after school and Saturday  mornings. 3.  Space Academy Leadership Training (SALT): Provided to our RSA Cadets after  school. 4.  Speech and Debate:  An fun, interactive, immersive class taught to strengthen and  sharpen the speech and debate skills of our young RSA Cadets. 5.  Echoes and Reflections: A history class with an emphasis  on using the past to help solve  today's cultural and societal problems.            6.  Voyager Club Volunteers: The RSA's volunteering organization open to teens aged  13-1...

By James Porter, CMSC Director December 4, 2019 Watch the news report highlighting the CMSC's payload.        Background - In August we were approached by two BYU students, Karina Orton and Leesie Clegg, about being part of a documentary. The purpose was for students to design an experiment that would go into space for the inaugural launch of Sugarhouse Aerospace's commercial rocket.      We assembled the best and brightest of our volunteers into a group of six rocket scientists. Mentored by Doug Pusey and Mason Edmondson they have worked ever so hard over ju st two months to design and build their experiment. On December 14th their experiment along with others will launch.      So we figured it was about time to share this exciting news and give you some insight into this amazing project. Isaac at the Graduation      Wednesday evening I had the pleasure of attending Isaac Ostler's graduation from the Utah Valley University's Firefighter Recruit Candidate Academy.  Isaac is now an official Utah County Firefighter.   Well done young man!      Isaac is one of those one in a million kids who walks into the Space Center as a young whipper snapper wanting to change the world.  You never know who they are at first, but they show themselves as the months and years pass.   Isaac as a Young Whipper Snapper way back in the day      The first time I met Isaac way back in January 2012?  Even before Isaac became a volunteer he offered me a bribe to go easy on his crew.  The story of his graft and cunning was posted on The Troubadour on January 29, 2012.  I decided to repost it today as an act of full disclosure and to highlight this outstanding gentleman.  Young Camper B...
