I'm Back and the World is Right Again.

Hello Space Center Fans,
     I'm back from a week long expedition to the Black Hills of South Dakota.  Being a native South Dakotan, I feel duty bound to return to my homeland at least once yearly to recharge and immerse myself in the midwest culture.  I've got a few pictures to share and a story or two to bore you with in future posts, but not tonight.  Tonight you get the Imaginarium and the peace of mind that comes from knowing Mr. Williamson is back in Utah and the world is right again.

Summer Camp One  2018 Hello Space Fans!      Farpoint at Renaissance Academy held its first summer space camp on June 25-27: a joint camp between Renaissance Academy and American Heritage School in American Fork.  The camp was directed by Alex Debirk, Farpoint's summer camp director.  I should also mentioned in passing that Alex is the high school physics teacher at American Heritage. He's one smart cookie. It shouldn't go without saying that Farpoint has a gifted and talented staff of flight directors and supervisors - many of whom have over ten years of space center experience. Rumors are that one of Farpoint's staff has 35 years of simulator experience - mind you, that is only a rumor.   The Valiant current sits at the John Hancock Charter School in Pleasant Grove      The Starship Valiant was funded by Dave Moon. Dave, Shelley Ellington, and I designed the ship.  Below is the newspaper announcement covering the grand opening of the Valiant dated June 11. 2011.  LEHI  -- An idea that started with a simple space shuttle structure inside a Pleasant Grove school room 20 years ago has lifted off into a new out-of-this-world adventure at Thanksgiving Point. A collaboration between the Christa McAuliffe Space Center and the iWorlds Foundation, iWorlds is an interactive space experience that puts you at the controls. A Fun Ship but What a Pain to Set Up and Take Down. And a Double Pain in the Neck With its Equipment. Hello Troops!      Just recently James Porter announced that the sixth ship in the new Space Center would be named "Falcon". All you old time Space Center staff, volunteers, and campers remember the original Falcon. It took flight the first time on  February 4, 2001 and continued to operated throughout the school year for the Friday night overnight camps. It was also used all summer long for the summer space camps.  It was decommissioned in 2005 when the Phoenix opened.       I created the Falcon out of need. The demand for our Friday overnight camps and summer space camps was too much for the Voyager, Odyssey, Magellan, and Galileo to handle....
